Here's a Google Drive mirror, in case the attachment expires: Download It also includes ZylonBane's Oldschool Midwife textures, so that this addon can be used with any version of Rebirth, as they are necessary (or at least the head is). This is based off of the model included in CyberBlutch Rebirth 05a, and as such is done on top of any modifications that may have been made to the model over the years. That's right, no more Schrödinger's nose! So, I opted to make said changes myself, modelling new hair and reshaping the face to be more. The geometry of the face didn't match the texture (if you use the updated versions of Rebirth, that is), and the hair was a boring bun instead of the iconic bob. This model is meant to address some of the elements of the Rebirth midwife model that bugged me the most: the face and hair. It will give you a 25% damage bonus against all Hybrids, not just those wielding pipes. It took almost twelve hours, a couple of tutorials, a help thread and the assistance of a Blender community addon developer, but my first modification for System Shock 2 is ready for release! If you have Research skill, be sure to investigate the first Hybrid Organ you find. With enough agility, you'll be able to deal damage to them safely using melee weapons while stepping backwards. Alternatively, you can backtrack while they charge. Your best bet is to circle-strafe around them and attack using your Wrench or another melee weapon chances are you'll take little to no damage in the process. Although their lack of a ranged attack might suggest that taking them out from a distance is preferable, their low attack speed makes them easy to kill even in close combat. Hybrids are generally slow-moving, and are limited to a melee attack, courtesy of the Lead Pipes they carry. They are fairly easy to dispatch, and are limited to melee attacks. They make up the majority of enemy resistance on MedSci Deck, and typically appear on every other level, albeit in significantly reduced numbers later into the game. Hybrids are humans who have been infected by the parasitic Annelids, and mutated into monsters in service of the Many. The Pipe Hybrid is the first enemy encountered in System Shock 2, and one of the least threatening.
